My Skincare Routine (AM & PM)
This skincare regimen is what I do every day in the morning and at night. I use Osmosis Beauty products mostly because that's what I have had REAL results with. Before I was an esthetician I had very congested and inflamed skin and didn’t really know anything about skincare. As cliché as it sounds, that’s the reason I wanted to pursue becoming a master esthetician (like most esties). Everyone asks me what I use on my skin and what steps to do in a home-care regimen. I’m going to share just that with you. All the products I mention are what I really do use every day and have found that it works for me and my skin type/concerns which is combination, sensitive, and acne prone skin.
1. Cleanse
The first step is to always cleanse. I use this morning and night. My skin is combination which means my pores are bigger on my t-zone (forehead, nose, cheeks and chin area) and smaller on the outer parts of my face. That means I produce more oil on the t-zone and dry on the rest. Specifically, I use Purify, an enzyme cleanser. Enzymes are a whole different topic, but they gently exfoliate your skin (not in a physical scrub form) , breaks down makeup, reduces excess sebum , and helps to slough off dead skin cells. I will probably make another post about enzymes in the future.
How to use:
- Morning and double cleanse at night.
- Splash face with water and apply half a pump and lather it in wet hands.
- Cleanse all over face and neck (fun fact: your skin doesn’t stop at your jawline which is where a lot of people neglect to cleanse so don’t forget your neck)!
- Rinse off with water.
- Repeat for double cleanse at night.
- Pat dry face.
- AM / PM (x2)
2. Apply serum
Second, I apply my serum. I use Rescue, an epidermal repair serum. This is my holy grail product that has prevented inflammation and cleared up my skin! No joke, it’s worth the price. I use this every day morning and night. The only “con” is that it has a distinct smell to it that might not be so pleasant to some people, but its tolerable and you get used to it. Beauty is pain, right? Kidding. Anyway, if you have texture, pigmentation, or inflammation issues, this is the serum for you.
How to use:
- Dispense half a pump onto fingers and gently apply all over face and neck.
- A little goes a long way
- AM/PM
- All skin types
3. Moisturize
After I apply my serum I hydrate (yes, everyone needs to use some sort of moisturizer or hydrating oil even if you’re oily). Immerse is one of my favorites especially in the winter. Technically this could be considered a serum, but Osmosis beauty considers it a moisturizer (face oil). I LOVE this face oil. Its main ingredient is emu oil. I know sounds strange, right?
Immerse restorative facial oil has some great benefits; its non-comedogenic which doesn’t clog your pores, its anti-inflammatory, hydrating, great for all skin types, and is packed with antioxidants to support healing.
4. Quench
The last step I do to lock everything in is I add the actual moisturizer. I use Quench intense moisturizer because even though I am oily, I am also dehydrated underneath (drinking water is important I know, but I lack in that department and I’m working on it).
Quench has a high amount of hyaluronic acid which holds up to 1,000 times it weight in water along with shea butter, jojoba seed oil and peptides to aid skin rejuvenation and restore the epidermal barrier. A little goes a long way with this product as well.
How to use:
- Dispense 1-2 drops of Immerse with a half a pump of Quench moisturizer.
- Apply to face and neck.
- All skin types
- AM/PM
5. Exfoliate (optional 1-2x/week)
This is technically a cleaner by skincare line by Sorella Apothecary, but I use it as an exfoliant. When I feel my skin feels a little more congested and rough in texture or I have a few hormonal breakouts pop up I use this in my double cleanse. I love Sorella’s grapefruit polishing powder because it actually is a very fine powder that when lathered in your hands with water it suds up and is easily applied onto the skin. It contains a tiny percent of salicylic acid and rice bran to absorb oil and lactic acid to remove dead skin cells. I love the way my skin feels after using this and definitely recommend for those who have oily to combination skin.
How to use:
- Pour a small amount into hands and lather with water
- Apply to face/ focus on t-zone
-Rinse
- PM
There you have it! This is my personal skincare routine which has worked for me and continues to work with consistency , which is what I encourage everyone to do. Be consistent.
If the skincare routine you're on right now has not given you results after a month of using it, then I definitely suggest to see a licensed professional on what skincare is right for you. Feel free to email me or comment if you have questions!
